How to Apply/Be Considered for GD Association Housing

Step 1

Check Eligibility 

Alma Gamble Apartments and Norman Mitchell Manor are exclusively for those who are either 62 & above or Veterans

Aridell Mitchell qualifies teen moms and families, includes an income threshold

Step 2

Download and print application form for Norman and Alma apartments

These two properties are HUD ( Housing and Urban Development: US Federal ) managed

Step 3

Download and print application form for Aridell apartments

This property is SHUD ( Seattle Housing Authority ) managed

Step 4

Gather Your Information 

Collect SSNs, ID, rental history (last 12 months), income sources, and asset details for every adult in your household.

Step 5

Complete & Sign All Forms

Fill out one application per adult, answer every question, and sign the Letter of Authorization and Seattle Eviction Ordinance form.

Step 6

Submit and Follow-Up

Submit form through email to Sbingley@uminc.net , Sandra Bingley, they will follow-up with next steps, check in every 6 months to stay on the waitlist.

The Aridell Mitchell Home had previously served as individual apartment homes but had lapsed into disrepair. In 1990, the abandoned building was dedicated to the community. A Board of Directors was organized with the help of Sharon Lee, who now serves as director of the Low Income Housing Institute (LEHI). A 501-C3 non-profit organization was formed to begin operating a transition home for teen mothers.

Read Faye’s Story With GD Association

Faye is a mother of two who secured stable housing after a series of misfortunes. With support from the GD Association, the process—for the first time—felt clear, honest, and efficient. Within weeks, she and her children received the keys to a fully furnished apartment in Seattle’s Central District. With housing stability, Faye is now able to pursue her goal of working as a medical assistant.
